Camelot

I have just watched the sneak preview episode of Starz's new original series Camelot.  While the acting and storyline is interesting enough, one person to look at is Arthur himself.  Arthur is played by Jamie Campbell Bower.  For those of you who don't know who he is, don't worry.  Although Bower has played in many mainstream commercial hits, his portrayals were so bit that many do not even remember him being there.  He played the youngest Volturi elder in the Twilight saga, you know the one who didn't look so bored sitting in the background, and Anthony of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd, the lovesick teenager.
The story of Camelot tells the tale of what happened before Arthur truly became king of Camelot and the struggles he faced to claim his destiny.  Uther has just died and with no male heir all his conquered lands are there for the taking for any Warlord.  Bower's Arthur is a horny, girlfriend stealing pretty boy who is just trying to grow some facial hair.
I have read many reviews that say that Bower should be replaced because he is too scrawny and looks like a girl.  I have something to say to those haters.  Please people!  This is a retelling of an old Arthurian legend.  In other retellings, Arthur is a young kid who takes the sword out of the stone, and Merlin is a old Gandalf who lives in the woods with all the pretty birdies.  Joseph Fiennes's Merlin is not an old man although he does seem pretty emo.  Morgan is the revenge seeking throne claiming eldest daughter of Uther Pendragon who is very sexed up considering she just came from a convent.Overall, my opinion of Camelot is that I think that it should be watched because it is only the first episode so it is too early to tell if this will be a train wreck, and how many shows have just awesome first episodes.  Look for it on the Starz channel on April 1.
      So stay tuned!!!!
